Bible Reading Day 16

Day 16 – Matthew 12:22-50
Good Morning !
There is a lot to work with in today’s reading: more healing, deliverance, religious opposition, arguments about who Jesus is, demands for signs, and an apparent disregard by Jesus for His own family. With so much material in a short passage, I encourage you to read slowly and listen in your heart for what God wants to say to you. In this way we will have good hearts, full of God’s Word. And Jesus tells us in verses 34 and 35: “For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart.”
I recommend Bible Study Tools (biblestudytools.com) as a source for background information when you need it. For example, there is often misunderstanding of the meaning of verse 32 where Jesus says that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven. I have counseled people who worry that this one verse could outweigh their salvation, despite many verses that remind us that we can be saved by grace through faith whatever our sins. I went to Bible Study Tools to research a little about blasphemy against the Holy Spirit and found more information here.
But more important than academic information is the revelation that God wants to give to your heart! And with that in mind, I suggest you read verse 50 several times to allow God to speak to you personally.
Have a great day!
Mark.
