Bible Reading Day 219

Day 219: August 7 (Romans 7)

Good morning!

I wonder how God has been speaking to you during your journey in Romans? This mountain of an epistle has so much in it, I would not be surprised if you already feel a little breathless!

Paul starts this chapter with an analogy – the law has no power over us once we are dead in Jesus, just as a woman whose husband has died is no longer bound by the laws of marriage.

This is not to say that the law is sinful or bad; instead the law shows us our sin. It is sin that makes law deadly, not the law itself. Given by God for loving reasons, the Law has been twisted by sin. It is sin that makes us slaves, forcing us to do wrong.

How does God want to set you free today?

Have a great day!
