Bible Reading Day 258

Day 258: September 15 (2 Corinthians 6)

Good morning!

Paul urges his readers not to accept the gift of salvation and then ignore it. It is a terrible shame when someone turns to Christ and then treats salvation as merely a ticket to heaven, living as they please in the meantime.

Instead, Paul is an example for us of how to live. And what an example! As you read verses 3-10, ask yourself if they could be true for you. See the apostle’s sadness that their hearts are not open to him, as his heart is to them. They are following the pattern of unbelievers in withholding love after a hurt. Paul’s desire is that they change and become more like Jesus (and like Paul).

There is such a difference between God’s love and human standards that it is almost impossible for there to be partnership between the two.

How does that play itself out in your life?

And whatever your answer to that question, I encourage you to take a few minutes today to meditate on verse 18: “I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

Have a great day!
